Stunning! Six thousand years’ Mysterious Relics Shown on Immersive Exhibition in Quzhou, China

Recently, the 2nd World Congress of Acupuncture-Moxibustion on Health Care and Preservation (WCAH) was held in Quzhou. At the same time, as one of the highlights of this year’s conference, the Launching Ceremony of Yang Jizhou Acupuncture Museum & “Hospital of Wonders” Exhibition commenced.

Guests who participating in this ceremony include: Mr. Ban Ki-moon, eighth Secretary General of the United Nations, Chairman of the Boao forum for Asia, and his wife Mrs. Liu; Mr. Shi Xuemin, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering,Master of Traditional Chinese Medicine; Mr. Zhang Jin, representative transmitter-successor of acupuncture and moxibustion of traditional Chinese medicine of the state-level intangible cultural heritage of The People’s Republic of China; Mr. Ma Ying, Secretary General of the World Federation of Acupuncture-Moxibustion Societies; Mr. Wu jiangping, Vice President of Qu Zhou Committee of Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference, Secretary of Qujiang District Committee. The ceremony is directed by Mr. Zhang Juncheng, director of the Health Communication Working Committee of the WFAS and CEO of Keystone Culture.

Exhibits in the museum tells the story of the long history of acupuncture and moxibustion. Treasures from the old Hongshan Culture, dating back 6,000 years ago are also on display.

Painted Pottery (5500 years ago): This piece of pottery, larger in shape among its kind, includes extremely rare faience lines and is precious because of its intact preservation.

Hongshan Culture Bone Cones(6000 years ago):In the Hongshan Culture period, bone cones can help sew tools made of hide and cure illness

Painted Pottery Pig (5000 years ago): This exhibit has exquisite workmanship and excellent quality exterior, and was used for sacrificial activities in Hongshan Culture period.

The final one is Hongshan Culture jade dragon and jade axe (5500 years ago): The Jade Dragon was found in Hongshan and was used by clergies as an indication of good harvests. The Jade Axe is a product of royalty,and was used by tribal chiefs. It is the symbol of power and rights.

All these exhibits performed an important role in mirroring both the long history of the Chinese civilization which nested acupuncture and moxibustion and the rapid development of today’s health and wellness industry driven by the Oriental medical philosophy.
