Dehesa School in Eastern San Diego County is a part of a network of schools called No Excuses University, bringing goals, purpose, and challenge to the education that their students; Transitional Kindergarten through eighth grade students receive. Being a No Excuses University (NEU) school means that Dehesa staff believe that every child has the right to go to college if s/he chooses; and it is our duty to ensure that we equip them with the knowledge necessary to be successful beyond high school graduation.  Dehesa does this by accessing the NEU network of schools which gives our teachers access to strategies and ideas from teachers and educational leaders across the nation.

No Excuses University was founded on three core beliefs:

1. Every student has the right to be educated in a way that prepares them for college.
2. It is the responsibility of educators to create six exceptional systems that makes college a reality.
